The Somali National Army (SNA) and troops from the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), advanced in an operation codenamed “Boot on the Ground” on 14 February on three towns in the Lower Shabelle region of Somalia. All three towns, Janaale, Aw Dheegle, and Barrire, fell to the allied forces with little resistance from the terrorist group Al Shabaab.
