Mogadisho | QOL | April 15 2020 –Veteran Somali musician, Omar Abdulle famously known as Omar Sholi passed away on Tuesday in Mogadishu, Somalia, his family confirmed.
Sholi 80, died at Yardameli hospital in the capital where he has been undergoing treatment. According to his family, the late musician’s death was caused by complications from diabetes.
Somalia’s minister of education, Abdullahi Godah Bare has condoled the death of the prominent musician and sent his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, relatives and friends over the untimely tragic loss.
“Sholi was a great singer who played a huge role in promoting Somalia’s art, may Allah rest his soul in eternal peace” said the minister in a statement.
The late singer was a notable member of the famous Waberi national band.
