The chairman of the Somali Republic Party Eng. Abdinur Ahmed Darman, who is currently in the United States for work, called on the people and leaders of the country to work together to prevent violence and political unrest.
Eng. Darman also pointed out that the country and the people need to hold a mutually acceptable election with the participation of all political stakeholders such as FGS, FMS, Civil Society, Youth, Clergy, and Women. Fair elections are the foundation of a democracy.
Eng. Darman, in conclusion, called on the US government not to withdraw its troops from Somalia at this time, which he described as a major setback.
